Partial Network Map of News Articles about Energy Storage
Network maps allow users to easily see how entities are related. The example above shows a network generated by starting with a conceptual search for "Energy Storage" in Zoogma and using Starlight to build a network view of the discovered surnames and the documents that connect them. For convenience, I just used the surname in this example. In an operational analysis the entire name would be used.
As you can see Mr. Chait (Andrew Chait) is a central figure in this map. He happens to be the CEO of EoPlex, a company that makes 'energy harvesting' computer chips that are used as battery substitutes. The user can scroll and zoom though the network and select areas to analyze or read the underlying documents.
This view is very useful for identifying:
- entities that are communicating with each other (To / From)
- entities that are being mentioned in the same articles (News Story/ Extracted Person)
- entities that are working together (incident report/Known Persons)
- ... and more
